Twisted Trails Off Road Park

Twisted Trails Off Road Park

From time to time we like to take a look at the various off-road trails and facilities across the country. Today we will focus on the Twisted Trails Off-Road Park in Copemish, Michigan managed by the Dusters Off-Road Club.

Overview
The off-road park has been opened for 5 years and they are proud to call it a “people’s park” because they focus on making the off-road lover happy with whatever they are looking for in an excursion. They are open

Twisted Trials Off-Road Park offers a wide range of activities for owners of 4×4 Jeeps, atvs, dirt bikes, and other 4×4 off-road vehicles. The off-road adventures include: “mild to wild” trials, rock crawls, sand drags, a trail master challenge, an obstacle course and a full race facility.

The park is open year road for regular visits and they also host a variety of events throughout the year. Most of the special events are done as fundraisers for local non-profit organizations that are near and dear to the park’s heart. Some of the causes include Toys for Tots, US Soldiers and the VFW.

Camping
One of the best parts about the Twisted Trails Off-Road Park is the fact that you can camp right next to the grounds of the park. This is great because you won’t have to waste time driving from a distant camp site to the trails.

They have 30 rustic sites that feature a woodsy setting with running water, and portable toilets. The setting is a little rough, but as we all know Jeep lovers like to rough it! Reservations are available, but if you can also chance it and hope you can get a spot.

Other Info
There is a small entry fee for each person entering the park. The park also offers ATV rentals for Jeep owners who also like to trail ride on something a little less exciting. They offer half day rentals, full day rentals and two day rentals.

One of the best parts about being a Jeep owner is the fact that there are tons of events that happen across the country that allow Jeep owners to gather together and share their passion. Some of the events are small and some others are huge. If you live in the Midwest and are looking for something awesome to do this spring you need to check out the Moab Easter Jeep Safari event.

This event takes place in Moab, Utah from March 31st until April 8th 2012. The action packed week features a ton of trail rides, most of which take a full day to complete and is hosted by Red Rock 4-Wheelers Inc.

If you want to attend this event you will have to register in advance to make sure you get the trail that you would like. They offer a wide range of packages including what they call a “First Timer’s” package that features three scenic trails that are aimed at Jeep owners who are newer to trail riding. All of these trials are of the tame variety, but they are still an amazing journey.

The Moab Easter Jeep Safari also offers up something called a “Sophomore Package” which is designed to be a slight step up from the “First Timer’s” Package. This package offers up a new trail each day for three days. Each trail is in a different part of the park and offers a slightly more “intense” ride each day and also completely new scenery.

Both these packages will include the same group of Jeep lovers each day and also the same group leader. This will allow newer members to meet and bond with some new people who will hopefully lead to new friendships and connections.

If neither of these packages work for you or your skills you can look over the other trails offered up during the event and choose them “ala carte”. Just make sure you look them over and only do the ones that match your skill level. While it is great to push your limits from time to time it is also important to remember there will be thousands of other Jeep owners on these trails and you don’t want to delay them because you bit off more than you could chew.

If you don’t live in the Utah area or can’t make it to this year’s event stay tuned to us and we will keep you posted on other great events around the country.

In January of 2012 Jeep once again stepped up to the plate and sponsored ESPN’s Winter X games.  And seeing has how it was the tenth time the iconic automaker has sponsored the event they upped their game and wowed the crowds.

One of the biggest events of the year for Jeep at the Winter X games was this thing they called the “Jeep Arctic Yeti Dig”.  The basic idea: Jeep randomly selected 7 contestants to participate in the dig.  These lucky folks got the opportunity to dig through a 20 foot by 20 foot patch of snow.

Their goal was to dig through the snow and find the Jeep Yeti Dig medallion.  The lucky person who found the medallion would be the winner of a brand new 2012 Jeep Wrangler Arctic Edition.   This year’s winner was Spokane, Washington’s Kerry Boston.

Another huge part of the Jeep Winter X games as the “Jeep Tag Shop”.  Game attendees were able to hang out in this 20 foot by 20 foot structure that served as the hub for all the Jeep-centric activities.   People got a chance to talk shop with the Jeep specialists, meet some of the athletes participating in Jeep Winter X Games and also people were able to enter for their chance to win cool Rossingol ski and snowboard gear.

Jeep didn’t keep their excitement for the games contained to the park activities.  They also unleashed 2 brand new commercials during the ESPN and ESPN2 broadcasts.  The commercials showcased the new 2012 Jeep Wrangler Arctic Edition.  One of them was called “A Little Snow” and the other was called “Avalanche.”  Both commercials fit perfectly with the Winter X Games and the Jeep brand.

The basic premise of the ads was to show people that this arctic edition was perfectly suited for people who live in areas that get a lot of snow.   Many Jeep owners who live in the colder regions feel as if they get the short end of the stick because they don’t get a chance to go wheeling during the colder times of the year, but now, with this new arctic edition even people who live in cold areas can use their Jeeps 24/7 365!

Overall the Jeep Winter X Games were a huge success for both the organizers and the main sponsor Jeep.  It was also a huge success for people who love winter x games sports and also love everything Jeep!
