Over Easter weekend Jeep rolled out a new line-up of concept vehicles.   The new vehicles were announced earlier in the year, but had not been seen until the Moab event in April.  From all accounts the crowd was very pleased with what they saw.  Below is a breakdown of some of the new concepts.

Jeep J12 Concept

This vehicle is being called an extended version of the new JK-8 pickup kit for the Jeep Wrangler.    This new concept is spun off of the 2012 Wrangler Unlimited with a 6’ cargo box.  Jeep also added a custom front fender set and a hood.  Chrysler bigwigs said they added the custom touches “as a nod to aficionados of the beloved Jeep Gladiator.”

According to the Jeep designers the Trailhawk concept is a way for them to provide a visual punch to the new line-up.   This vehicle will be dressed up in some fun colors including:  Stone White, Mineral Grey and Red.  All the colors will get a matte black hood appliqué that is said to cut down glare.  This new concept gets topped off with 18” Goodyear SilentArmor off-road tires.

Chrysler says that this concept was designed for “Moab’s toughest trails,” and is a spin-off of the Dozer Yellow 2012 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon.  Under the hood of this new powerhouse lays a bolted-in 470-horsepwoer 6.4-liter Hemi V8.  This super engine is linked to a Getrag 238 six-speed manual transmission.      The Traildozer comes with premium Mopar front and rear bumpers, a 9.5 CTI winch and a factory-lifted suspension.

The Wrangler Apache was made to appease the crowd who kept screaming for a V8-powered Hemi under the hood of a Jeep Wrangler.  This vehicle features a brand new Mopar 470-horsepwoer 6.4-litre Hemi V8 conversion kit made for the Wrangler.  It will hit the streets in the summer of 2012 with a 5-speed automatic transmission, but there will be a 6-speed manual to follow.

Designers used a 2012 Wrangler Rubicon as a base for this vehicle that is said to be a nod to fans of the Jeep Forward Control which hit the streets in 1956.  The cabin has been moved over and in-front of the front axle.  The wheelbase has been stretched and they have also added a custom drop-side cargo box.    The FC Concept comes with Hanson bumpers, a Warn 16.5 winch, a stainless steel exhaust system from Corsa, and King coil-over reservoir shocks.

As we all know one of the biggest complaints about the Wrangler SUVs have been their lack of power and the fact that there was always a two-wheel drive or a four-wheel drive option.  Of course as Jeep lovers we also know that a two-wheel driver Wrangler is just a tease and sort of pointless.

The good news is that the 2012 version of the Wrangler now comes with a powerful 285 V6 engine that just purrs like a kitten, but runs like a cheetah.  Jeep has also been nice enough to make sure there is no confusion and now makes the Wrangler SUV only as a four-wheel drive vehicle.  That means this thing is made for moving quickly and safely through whatever terrain you dare to take it through.    The best part is it still gets about 21 miles per gallon on the highway.

Another big thing coming for the Jeep Wrangler in 2012 is the addition of an Arctic Edition.    Jeep has based this model on their popular selling Wrangler Sahara model, but with a much cooler (pun intended) take.

The Wrangler Arctic is decked out with a refreshing winter trim package with body-color fender flares and hardtop coming standard.  Jeep also adorned the fenders with arctic badges and they even include a sexy looking Yeti Footprint decal on the hood and also on the driver’s side fender.   Jeep also offers up the 2012 Wrangler Arctic with semi-gloss black 17-inch wheels and 32-inch tires to help you get through even the iciest conditions.

While the outside of this vehicle is completely sexy it has nothing on the chill-tastic interior.   The seats are gussied up with orange piping, polar white accents and of course the Arctic logo on all the seats.  And of course if you plan on using your Arctic Wrangler in the manner it was intended you will want to add the heated front seats to keep the butts warm when they aren’t being bumped around from all the cold weather wheeling you will be doing.

The orange accent theme found in the piping is also found in other parts of the Wrangler interior including the along the door, around the leather-wrapped steering wheel, on the armrest, and in the nets throughout the cabin.  One of the coolest things is the polar white inserts on the grab handles.

Jeep is offering up the Arctic in the Wrangler and the Wrangler unlimited with prices starting just over 32k for the Wrangler and just over 35k for the unlimited version.  For those of you who live in the colder clims this is a great addition to your Jeep collection.

Jeep has been making waves over the last several years with their special edition vehicles and 2012 is no different.  This year the fun to drive manufacturer has rolled out an awesome 2012 Jeep Wrangler Call of Duty MW3 edition.

Jeep is pushing forward with the themed vehicle in both the Wrangler and the Wrangler Unlimited.  The Wrangler version starts just a little bit over $36,000 while the unlimited starts just over $40,000.  Both are loaded to the grilles with special edition accoutrements that will make even the biggest Jeep believer blush.

The 2012 Jeep Wrangler Call of Duty: MW3 Edition is built on the awesome Rubicon platform that we all know means one kick-butt ride.  Then as you climb inside you are greeted with a special Call of Duty logo embroidered into the front seat headrests.  This helps remind your passengers that they are riding in something truly special.   But the decking out doesn’t stop there.

Jeep has appointed the seats with the amazing Black Sedosa fabric and once again emblazoned the seats with a chest high Call of Duty logo to once again remind your passengers (and game lovers) they are riding in an extra special vehicle.

Then to add even more fancification, the Jeep designers have tricked out the seats with custom Silver French stitching on the seat cushions, seat back, headrest, front door armrests, console lid and even the steering wheel.   Jeep also upped the “game” by decking the interior out with a specially designed blacked-out instrument cluster with special gauge cluster graphics including a Jeep only Call of Duty: MW3 logo.

The Call of Duty: MW3 logo is also featured on the custom slush mats that are fashion plus function.  They are created with deep grooves to keep the wet inside the mats and off the pristine carpets.  This way you can have your mud and not have to clean it too.    Jeep was also nice enough to toss the same style mats into the cargo area to insure you can have a blast all over the vehicle.

And to make the driver feel like they are playing a game; they have decked out the hand-stitched leather steering wheel with wheel-mounted audio controls.  This way the gamer in you can feel like you are playing a game while you are driving.  Of course, remember, when driving the Wrangler Call of Duty: MW3 you are actually driving and not playing again.
