Archive for the ‘4″ Series II Suspension Lift Kit for 97-06 Jeep TJ by Rough Country’ Category

Suspension lifts are often used by owners who want their Jeeps to look higher off the ground than stock models. While this offers you the ability to personalize your Jeep, it also has benefits for those who choose to take their Jeep off roading.

A suspension lift also accommodates larger sized tires and improves the vehicles off roading ability. Installing a suspension lift on your off roading vehicle can also add greater articulation, ground clearance and allow you to maneuver over larger obstacles.

There are different types of suspension lifts on the market, the most common lift that is used is typically a body lift which adds an additional one to three inches of height to your vehicle. A body lift generally only involves the addition of rubber spacers between the frame mounts and the body. This type of lift does not typically improve the off roading performance of your vehicle or add additional ground clearance. This type of lift is generally used by those who only wish to make their Jeep look better.

If you’re looking to add ground clearance and improve the off roading ability of your vehicle you should consider installing a suspension lift. A suspension lift adds or modifies the majority of the factory suspension in order to add ground clearance and improve approach angles. There are two types of suspension lifts available, the long- arm and the short-arm lifts. A short-arm suspension lift is a basic suspension lift that tends to be relatively inexpensive, but it changes the stock geometry of the vehicle which can affect the ride. A long-arm lift is used when more of the suspension components are to be replaced. This type of suspension lift provides better maneuverability over larger road obstacles.

If you’re mainly interested in adding a lift to fit larger tires onto your vehicle any type of lift will provide you with enough space. The addition of larger tires for vehicles driven off road provide better traction and allow the driver to negotiate larger obstacles such as rocks or trees. The type of lift you install should be based on how you use the vehicle and what types of terrain you drive on the most.

There are many things to consider when purchasing a lift kit for your Jeep. First of all, which type would work best for your Jeep’s purpose, there is a body lift kit which is designed to increase the amount of space between the body and frame; then there is a suspension lift which increases suspension travel and ground clearance, which makes suspension lift kits ideal for those who are interested in taking their vehicle off-roading. The important to remember when choosing your lift kit is that the higher you lift your vehicle, the greater the chance of roll-over accidents.

When choosing a lift kit, if you’re not an experienced mechanic it may be best to have it professionally installed to insure that it is done correctly. The installation process involves a lot of work and time to under your Jeep. If you do not have experience in this area it may best to consult a professional to avoid any unintentional damage to your vehicle.

Once you have chosen the lift kit that is best suited for your Jeep, there are other important parts that will need to be improved as well. Your brake lines will more than likely need to be extended. Once your vehicle is lifted, the factory brake lines will need to be replaced with longer and stronger lines because the wheels are now further from the master cylinder.

If you are installing the kit yourself you will need to know if it is a toe-in or toe-out system. If it is a toe-in system the fronts of the tires on one axle will point towards the body of the vehicle, this design increases the straight-line stability of the vehicle. If it is a toe-out design the wheels are pointed towards the outside of the vehicle, this design will enable your vehicle to have a better response when cornering.

Choosing a lift kit for your Jeep is not only about finding the one that will give your vehicle the look you want, but there are also a lot of other parts that need to added and improved in order for your lift kit to work properly and be safe to drive. If you are unsure of what needs to be changed on your Jeep in order to install a lift kit, consult with a professional who is familiar with installing and the process of adding a lift kit to your vehicle.

Jeeps are vehicles that are made for fun. It doesn’t matter whether you stay on road or if you take your Jeep off road, they’re for looking good and having a great time.

A suspension kit is extremely useful for a Jeep. Suspension kits – such as this 4″ Series II Suspension Lift Kit for 97-06 Jeep TJ by Rough Country – are designed to enhance the performance of your Jeep. A suspension kit gives your Jeep more flexibility, high ground clearance, a more comfortable ride, and allows you to use larger tires.

If you drive mainly on road, a Jeep suspension kit will make your rides more comfortable, allow you to use tires that are larger, and allow you to more easily pass over obstacles. For example, if you often go to the mall, you may have to cross speed bumps or speed breakers. With a suspension kit, you will not notice the speed bumps nearly as much.

The same holds true when you take the Jeep off road. You won’t notice uneven ground or rocks as much, and the ride will be much more comfortable. Larger tires are often extremely useful when you go off road.

This kit has everything that you need to enhance your Jeep. With easy bolt-on installation, no cutting and no welding, you won’t have to spend hours trying to install the kit on your Jeep. Rough Country’s rear coil spring design that count-acts passenger side coil fatigue is included. The kit is upgradable and maintains stock ride quality.

In the kit you’ll get front and rear coil springs, solid tubular transfer case drop kit, front and rear lower control arms, swaybar links, front and rear track bar drop brackets, and 4 RC Hydro 8000 series shocks. There are two kits to choose from, depending on the year of your Jeep, and you can choose the color of the shocks, the quantity of shock boots, and whether you want your shocks upgraded.

All I want for Christmas is…
by yours truly.. 😉

Every body at Jeep meets make fun of me
I have no jeep as they can see
I don’t know who to blame for this catastrophe
So my only wish this Christmas eve
is to be just like them.

All I want for Christmas is a big fat Jeep
with a 6 inch lift,
And 4 Swamper tires

Gee if I could only have
a sweet Hydraulic winch,
Some recovery gear,
a sweet lighting kit.
Gee oh gosh how happy I would be..

So Santa if you could be so kind
To deliver this to me
I’d be as happy as I could be
as you would see.

All I want for Christmas is a big fat jeep
tricked out and ready to play with friends
Gee oh gosh how happy I would be!

🙂
