In keeping with trying to bring to the forefront all of the available off roading groups around the state, I bring to you today Hills Angels 4×4 Club located in Reno, Nevada. The Hills Angels 4×4 Club was suggested to us by Barbara Rainey. If you know of a group that we haven’t featured yet, please let us know and we will add it to our list. Please provide the URL with your suggestion. If the site does not have a current website, give us some background information on it and we will get it posted.

Here is some information about Hills Angels 4×4 club from their official website: www.hillsangels4x4.com.

This is a very easy-going group that requires no dues. To join, you simply show up at a meeting or join the forum online. You have to post at least once every 3 months, come to at least one trail run, and show up to meetings now and then. There’s no strict requirements and it’s a good fit for those who have very busy lifestyles but still want to have people they can go off roading with. Money is not collected except through a donation jar during meetings, which are often held in such laid back places as coffee houses and pizza restaurants.

The website is a forum that has lots of information for its members. There’s a small classifieds section with items for sale, wanted, and that are being given away for free. Other topics on the forum include ham radios, trail runs and reports, land use, tech, survival tips, online videos of 4x4s, pictures of members’ 4x4s, and club info. There is also a general chat section for members to get to know one another and talk about anything.

This group is quite active, and tries to make sure they do not damage the environment. In fact, they have won recognition certificates several times from the forestry service for helping to preserve the trails. There is also a lot of pride in this little group and when you attend the meetings, you can sometimes purchase stickers and decals, as well as other merchandise, for a small price to show your own pride in the club.

In keeping with trying to bring to the forefront all of the available off roading groups around the state, I bring to you today Penobscot Valley 4-Wheel Drive located in Bangor, Maine. Here is some information about Penobscot Valley 4-Wheel Drive from their official website: www.pv4wd.com.

The club is often referred to as PV4WD and is a group of Jeep owners. This non-profit group is simply a group of friends who enjoy the sport of offroading. They are very active in the fight to keep the sport legal and work to educate the public and to preserve the environment as much as possible. They are also very active in charity work, such as food drives.

Those who want to join will have to pay the annual member dues, which is $15 for a single screen name and $20 for two screen names. Usually this is when a couple want to be part of the club. The membership lasts for an entire year. There are stickers and decals that you can buy to add to your vehicle, and it is encouraged that those who join live in Penobscot County, as that is where most of the events take place, though there are members from other areas. All makes, models, and years of Jeeps are welcome.

You can register for the club right on the site, see how they ride, see members’ rigs, and even find youtube videos. There are club requirements listed; while this is an easy going club, there are still rules to follow and Jeeps need to be equipped a certain way. There is also a forum where members can connect to each other and a gallery. Check out their Facebook Group page too at Penobscot Valley 4-Wheel Drive.
