(Repost but too good not to share once again!)

Good day all you Jeep enthusiasts.. Today I want to share a poem I cam across by a very talented writer I might add, while reading the news feed on Facebook today. Cindy Homans Creighton posted this ode that is fitting for all Jeep owners who know how to have fun in their Jeeps. Thank you Cindyfor allowing me to share your great poem and picture with all of our readers!

Ode to My Jeep
At Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas,
And everyone was asleep;
It was a perfect night,
For a rip in the Jeep.

I quietly slipped out,
Snow was gently falling;
When I got to the trailhead,
A Barred Owl was calling.

The trailhead was blocked,
By a big mound of snow;
Time to air down,
And put ‘er in 4-Low.

I tried to crawl it first,
But this mound was no mini;
I backed ‘er back up,
And gave ‘er the skinny.

She blasted up and over,
This snow mound with ease;
With lockers turning all wheels,
She was aiming to please.

It was a beautiful night,
A shame to waste on sleep;
This is what I call quality time,
For me and my Jeep.

The trail was pristine,
The off-camber sections were nice;
But then she plunged into a hole,
And crashed through the ice.

The tires spewed slush,
And the engine did roar;
But it was time to unspool,
My trusty 8274.

The winch it pulled,
As the tires they spun;
A big smile on my face,
This was all part of the fun.

We’re rolling again,
But it’s time to head back;
Santa will soon be here,
And I must hit the sack.

I put another log on the fire,
And headed up to sleep.
I drift off dreaming,
Of fun times in my Jeep!

If you are a newbie to Jeep off-roading there are a few things you will want to check before hitting a trail in your Jeep. Jeeps are rugged built, but even the most rugged built Jeep can be taken off the road completely if you do not take some precautions.

Before setting of on your adventure make sure you check your basics. The basics consist of all of the fluids, making sure there is no leaks and everything is topped off full. Bring along extras just in case. Remember, when you are off-roading your Jeep will be working far harder for you then when just going on a casual Sunday drive. While you are at it, check the air filter and the air filter box to make sure they are clear of any debris that may obstruct your airflow.

Check your electrical equipment and make any necessary repairs. Check the air pressure and the tread of your tires. Is your tread appropriate for the terrain you intend on driving on? Bring along a portable air compressor. There are occasions where you may find you either have to deflate your tires for some terrains and later have to inflate them in order to get home.

Make sure you check your ball joints, shocks, belts, hoses, and gas supply. Carry along a jack and make sure your spare tire is in good repair. If any functioning of your Jeep is off, your off-roading experience can end in disaster so make any and all repairs no matter how small before hitting the trails. Visit XtremeTerrain for all your Jeep parts and accessories need and as always. Have a great and safe time off-roading!

Nestled in the Tooele Valley just outside of Salt Lake City, Utah, Miller Motorsports Park is one of the premier motorsports facilities in the world.
The park consists of a 3-mile road course that can be run in four different configurations, and they have recently built an off-road park for those who like to take their motorsport fun away from the asphalt.

Miller Motorsports Park is a state-of-the-art facility, and when these guys decide to do something they always build it to a very high standard. The off-road park is no different.

The park is man-made and it started as a completely flat piece of desert on the northwest corner of the facility. Dirt was used to form obstacles and then sprayed with concrete to seal it and give it a rock-type texture. There are also some natural rocks that have been integrated into the park as well.

“You can really get to know your Jeep in a controlled environment, allowing you to test your Jeep to every level it has and find your limitations,” said Miller Off-Road manager John Williams. “It better prepares you for off-roading in places like Moab or other uncontrolled environments.”
